Request for Cancellation or Alternative Assessment for IB May 2026 Exams in the Middle East

my building got bombed and i was forced to evacuate the country, with the rush i left in the clothes i was wearing, bringing no clothes or notebooks. i have to gather knowledge and notes from the past 2 years of IB for me to be MILDLY prepared for these exams. these are not conditions for my grades to determine my future in university.

Dear International Baccalaureate Organization, I am writing to respectfully request that the International Baccalaureate Organization consider cancelling or postponing the upcoming examinations in the Middle East region. Given the current situation, many Diploma Programme students cannot be assured of their safety during examination sessions. In addition, the ongoing instability has significantly affected students’ ability to prepare adequately, both academically and psychologically. Under such circumstances, it becomes increasingly difficult to ensure fair and equitable examination conditions for all candidates. We kindly ask the IB to carefully review the situation and take appropriate measures that prioritize student safety, well-being, and equal opportunity. Your consideration and support during this challenging time would be deeply appreciated by students, families, and educators alike. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

my dad was literally at the airport during the blast. he's okay but these close calls are not a joke. and its not easy to just ignore the possibility of what could've happened and go back to studying. its so ignorant.

even if some of us aren't under direct threat the toll this has had on our mental focus and motivation is a huge barrier

Its been very hard to study for the past couple of weeks. i am very stressed and very scared of the current situation and the fact that it can get worst is terrifying I dont think I will be bale to focus as hard on studying for the finals please consider using our IA and predicted grades

Online school has been okay, but the environment and uncertainty have been very mentally draining. I think we are trying our best to study, but the situation is extremely demotivating for many students. I believe it is not fair that we are expected to perform equally to those who have not been affected by this conflict. I feel that an objective solution would be to consider internal assessments (already completed) and our predicted grades.

A balanced approach would be to take predicted grades.

Please allow to use the predicted grades along with completed CAS, IAs, extended essays and other course work. This will have an enormous impact on 100s of thousands of students.
