Dear College Board,
I am writing on behalf of myself and many fellow students in the Middle East who are preparing for the AP exams scheduled for May 2026. We deeply respect the importance of the AP program and understand the effort that goes into maintaining rigorous standards. However, we face exceptional challenges that significantly impact our ability to perform at our best.
Due to “regional instability, travel restrictions, or extraordinary disruptions in educational access”, many students have limited access to consistent study resources, safe examination environments, and proper academic support. These factors are beyond our control and create a situation where the AP exams, as currently scheduled, cannot fairly reflect our knowledge and efforts.
We kindly request that the College Board consider one or more of the following measures to ensure equitable assessment for all affected students:
Postponement or cancellation of the May 2026 exams in affected regions.
Provision of alternate or remote testing options for students who cannot safely attend exam centers.
Flexibility in exam administration or deadlines to accommodate students impacted by extraordinary circumstances.
Our aim is not to avoid academic challenge, but to ensure that all students have a fair opportunity to demonstrate their learning under conditions that are safe and reasonable. We hope the College Board will recognize the unique difficulties faced by students in this region and provide solutions that maintain fairness, safety, and the integrity of the AP program.
Thank you very much for your attention and consideration. We appreciate your dedication to supporting students worldwide and look forward to your guidance on how affected students can proceed.
