Request for an Independent Investigation into the broken “New” lift in St Mary Abbots Court Block C

There has been a rising demand for a thorough investigation into the malfunctioning lift situated within our building. Residents have expressed their concerns regarding the persistent issues plaguing this essential amenity, which plays a crucial role in facilitating the daily movement of individuals, particularly those with mobility challenges, elderly residents, and families with young children & pets.
The lift's frequent breakdowns have not only caused significant inconvenience for the residents, but they also pose potential safety risks. As the building flats several floors, those residing on higher levels find themselves burdened with the added difficulty of climbing stairs consistently, which can lead to fatigue and poses a considerable challenge for those who rely on the lift as a means of access to their homes.
Given these pressing circumstances, there is a growing urgency among residents for a detailed and impartial investigation that can assess the current state of the lift, identify the underlying causes of its failure, and recommend effective solutions. This investigation is expected to involve the examination of the lift’s mechanical components, an evaluation of its maintenance history, and an exploration of compliance with safety regulations. By addressing these concerns methodically, it is hoped that the residents will be able to regain confidence in this vital service, ensuring both their safety and accessibility within their living environment.
Furthermore, a comprehensive investigation could illuminate whether the management of the building has adequately responded to prior complaints regarding the lift and if the necessary maintenance protocols have been followed diligently. Through this process, residents are advocating for transparency and accountability, aiming to secure not only immediate repairs but also a long-term solution that will prevent future disruptions to their daily lives.
In order to effectively and promptly address these urgent matters, we respectfully request your support by signing our petition. Thank you
