To Dr. Hernandez and the Electrical/Computer Engineering Department: The computer engineering students currently attending The College of New Jersey respectfully request a change to the undergraduate curriculum. We support replacing the Thermodynamics course with another course more relevant to our career field. Doing so will provide additional benefit to students without damaging the quality of the curriculum. The replacement course should be in either the electrical engineering or computer science disciplines. Looking at the courses being offered for next semester, several possible substitutes could be: • Power Systems (ELC470) with Professor Deese • Digital Systems Engineering (ELC441) with Professor Jesson • Computer Networking (CSC360) with Professor Li • Human-Computer Interaction (CSC470) with Professor Salgian In the future, this substitution could be better formalized as replacing Thermodynamics with an additional electrical or computer elective. The students signed below represent those who agree with this change to the curriculum. We believe that this change is in the best interests of both the School and the students.
