We have had nothing but crime on our property and our entire neighbourhood looks like skid road as a result of the drug addicts living in the Marguerite Ford Apartments. We can barely bring children to the neighbourhood park or go to the park without a homeless person sleeping on the park bench with clothing and garbage littered all around. The Mayor and Council have made the Olympic Village, a so called role model of what a community should be, an embarrassment.

the Marguerite Ford Apartment has brought a lot of troubles to these neighbourhood. I have seen their residence peeing in the ally, causing hygienic issue. Their residence will scream or yell in the middle of the night causing health issue because I personally got waken up at least twice a week from them screaming or yelling at each other. I also see a lot of them carrying some pure breed expensive dogs that , if they report their income currently, that cannot possibly affordable to them. We have to constantly worried about our safety , our dogs' safety, and our childrens' safety. Our building strata also spent about $100K per year in the last 3 years in repair and maintenance from the break-in, and upgrading security system.

People who living Marguerite Ford Apt seems doesn't understand how to living peace with neighborhood as olympic villages. They using shopping cart to collect recycle item every week; They jump into/broke into the "Big Brother" clothing recycle bin from daylight to midnight; They riding bicycle and swoop around the neighborhood for took away any item from ground floor residents' patio or garden bed, even the garbage bin and signs; They try to using shopping cart to stop the garage gate close then take chance for doing somethings; They turn on the music then speaker facing the open ground from daytime. They fighting, shouting, crossing street without care neighbor. They abuse Starbucks free milk, cream and others as they nutrition sources. They went to Canadian Tire to get free bike tire repairs and swipe free tire tools and bike accessories. They don't take care themselves for basic body hygiene and routine clean basis which overwhelm irritated body odor. Too many down side reasons we should vouch our voice and opinions for Mayor and Council to know we need more protection and they should get more control.

As a homeowner of the James building, I definitely support having better support and management of the Marguerite Ford Apartments.

I remember shortly after this facility was opened that our parking garage was broken into monthly, resulting in damage to vehicles and our building. The police investigated at that time, who would not go on record, said that the cities initiative to distribute such facilities throughout the city was the worst decision for efficient use of police resources to combat the numerous issues resulting from being located in our neighbourhood. They were right! Time to start solving this problem properly COV!

When will the mayor and his cronies start representing the interests of the hard working tax payers?

MFA needs a Manager that truly cares about the well being of its Residents and the neighbourhood. RainCity Housing does not. Have heard great things about The Kettle Society. A management change at MFA is long overdue.

Build it and they will come.
Dump them in the neighbourhood and leave them to their own devices and they will continue their nasty ways.
