Many of you have heard about the various issues that have arisen during Michael Moffitt's short tenure as Dean of the University of Oregon School of Law. Our school has dropped from 77th in the US News rankings to its current place at 100. The morale among our professors is extremely poor. The employment rate for JD required positions has dropped to a percentage in the 60s. The class enrollment has dropped from 180+ to 120 in three years. The student body diversity has dropped. Many students are frustrated with many decisions made by the administration and the relationship between it and the students has suffered as a result. Real responsiveness has been replaced with patronizing emails, underutilized "town hall" style forums, and dismissive explanations of the current state of the law school.
