Members of the school board voted to move students in Caribou Meadows Subdivision and surrounding areas out of Iona Elementary and into Bridgewater Elementary effective September 2014.

Those individuals and families who would be affected by this move were never given the opportunity to voice their opinions regarding the change.A public forum was not held where individuals could give input or ask questions. Superintendent Charles Shackett did not feel it was necessary due to the small number of children that would by affected by the change.

A plan to move children out of their school was never formally presented to the patrons residing in District 93.

A plan detailing the reasons why students are being moved out of a school in their community and sent to a school outside their community was never presented. A plan showing why students outside of the Iona Elementary community are being bussed into Iona was never presented.

As patrons, and those affected, we would like to have these plans formallypresented to us. We would like to be given the opportunity to have our voices heard. We would like to hear from our elected officials why they feel their plan is in the best interest of our children. We would like to have them held accountable for their actions.
