this is just stupid, I really can't expound more on that. For State College to make such a crucial move on toys, yet allow some of the alcohol and drug activities to get out of control in town is incredibly dumb.

Having toys doesnt make a person violent. Poor parenting and bad social environments do.

This is the same type of thing Eric Holder spoke of in the 90's of trying to "brainwash people" into thinking guns are evil.

Every study that's been done in recent years shows the world is statistically safer now than it literally has ever been. Kids love making these toys, and kids love buying these toys, and in eight years living in this community I've never once seen or heard an example of these toys causing a problem. I just see creative, industrious kids excited to make create something cool, and many, many more kids excited to be able to buy them. If there's a bright side, I guess, it's that we'll spend less money at Arts Fest this year.

I think it is ridiculous to take this opportunity from the children.

A wooden sword, purchased at Arts Fest for my son about 5 years ago, continues to be one of his favorite go-to toys... he's 12. Playing with it and sharing it with neighborhood boys has never caused any kind of violent play or attitudes.

We need stop trying to place our children in a bubble and over protect them. If we continue to do this they will not be prepared for real life as an adult.

As a participant in the Arts Fest in past years, I was slightly offended by this decision. But I mainly feel sorry for the kids who were told that their products have "very little creative content". This was an incredibly rude accusation to be made by the board, especially after they allowed those kids to participate in the first place. It takes just as much creative talent to create and build a shield as it does to paint it.
