The prohibition of drinking for adults under the age of 21 has gone on long enough! We need a revisal of our current laws and repeal the cut-highway regulations in place. The current laws do not dissuade underage drinking; in fact, they only force those who were previously of legal drinking age into basements and out of sight. The facts are that the drop in drunk driving deaths is not due to a higher drinking age, but an inforcment of laws on the books and increased safety features in veichles. The only thing a higher drinking age causes is a forbidden fruit mindset. A higher drinking age does not discourage under age drinking, but it encourages it. This is not mearly state's rights, but the individual liberties and freedoms of the American. Therefore, if an 18 year old can vote, enlist, be tried as an adult, drive, and buy a gun they should be able to drink a beer This is why we need to let the states decide drinking age again without harsh penalties
