I feel the Town Council overstepped their authority wi this ridiculous rate increase on our property taxes. I feel for the full timers who are living on fixed incomes and could possibly ne priced out of this paradise.

We live on an income of 3,300 a month and still try to work to supplement that at 74 and 75.. As full time residents we can pay our Bill's and always have. But this amount of increase coupled with crippling inflation is draining our savings fast. Beech Mountain should not be a place only for the rich.

Large increases are generally from mismanagement.

The act of increase of the property tax is ridiculous. The property value has been doubled so the property tax is automatically doubled. The township also raised the tax rate at the same time. The township council has been over budget for 2 consecutive years which showed fiscal irresponsible at all. This definitely affected every homeowner in the town. I strongly request another open session to discuss in further detail.

I am a homeowner on Beech Mountain that does not rent out our property at all whatsoever. I do not believe it is fair that the town Council is considering raising taxes by 50% or more to help cover the cost of STR‘s that others are running as businesses for profit. If you choose to tax those individuals running rental businesses that would be a cost of doing business that they could work into their rental fees.

I recently bought my home and am not financially prepared for such a large increase in taxes. An increase is understood but this amount seems excessive for the budget!
