If a person convicted of MCDV shows over the years that they are not a repeat offender then they should be not looked at as a danger to society for the rest of their natural born life. Especially when a convicted violent felon can get their rights back.

This is unfair to the citizens of this country. You should have the right to bear arms unless you're convicted of a violent crime. There are thousands of people that are wrongly convicted of crimes they haven't committed and it inadvertently affects them for the rest of their lives and it is very unfair.

A 10 year ban on owning a gun for a misdemeanor is more than adequate. A lifetime ban is unconstitutional!

22 years ago I was told 10 year ban... I had no money at the time to fight it... And the situation with my Wife ( then girlfriend ) was just harsh words in front of the cops... Ridiculous law.... She can't even own a gun and she was the victim..... Law should be 5-10 year ban, and no other issues....

The Lautenberg Amendment is unconstitutional and places a lifelong ban on a misdemenor with no process to reatore God given rights. While almost all felons have the process availible to restore rights to them.
