Charter schools are funded by your tax dollars and yet have no accountability. They cherry pick students, hire low talent teachers and abuse the system, Further, with 95% of California charters being supported by the law firm Young Minney and Corr, the financial and governance are a travesty. No more charter schools until we have legislation that properly oversees charter financing.

As an educator who has worked in a charter, a private and now in public schools, I can honestly say that there is HUGE difference between a charter and a traditional public school. There is no accountability for teachers or the principal. It is really just a publicly funded place for well off kids to attend. It's an entirely different world in a public school. Our money should go to serve those kids.

In our district the charter school children, parents, teachers, and administrators are great, but the corporation that takes our public school money lies, lies, and lies some more to cover up who knows what secrets they are not telling. The parents are in to them. The crooked corporations and their lack of transparency (stalling to the fullest extent against revealing finances) are the problem with charter schools. Unfortunately they care nothing about educating children and everything about making money.

If your issue is with private companies running charter schools, then rally against those. But, they are only a fraction of the total of charter schools.

Please stop this loop-hole filled prop that does nothing but fill the pockets of the companies creating these segregation schools. Such a waste of our dollars of how they can bully their way into a district.

Charter schools in California have little over site and find ways to exclude kids. They do very little to help kids with special needs or any child struggling. They need to be closed and we need to fix our public schools.

There may be a few good charter schools, but in general they are not serving the best interest of children.

Sounds like a good thing. Would redirect funding to public schools.

My daughter went to Kepler charter school here in Fresno, CA. They are in a church facility though they claim "NO" affiliation. Yet, the stomped on her civil liberties daily with religious rhetoric. School was even canceled so the Church could hold funeral services. They are not operating within the law. This charter school is running rogue with government funding. I withdrew my child.
