Charter schools are not accountable and cause segregation which was banned by President Johnson in the 60's.

If this legislation does not pass, America will have no more free universal public schools. The Wall Street investors will have turned it all into profit making charters.

Putting public money into private hands only helps those private hands. Stop privatizing our public schools!

Indeed the charter school movement is a corporate take over of the public school system. It will widen the gap between the haves and the have nots.

Charter schools are but another way for the rich to isolate themselves from the not rich. Parents are willing to spend an hour plus a day in driving time 180 days a year, rather than help their home school. Additionally, this adds tremendously to the carbon footprint on our earth.

The Charter School Act of 1992 should be deemed unconstitutional in California as it privatizes public education by using taxpayers' money without public oversight.

The Charter School Act of 1992 privatizes public school education by taking funding from California taxpayers and should be deemed unconstitutional in our state.

There are charter schools in many areas. some are good some are NOT. But the system is wrong. Give more power to the teachers and community members at the public schools! Public schools have highly qualified credentialed teachers! I'm one of them!

In the Top 5 most dangerous threats to American Democracy - Charter School Cash Cows are unregulated, cheat America's commitment to 1st Class Public Education for all, cheat American Taxpayers; these Charter Schools are brainwashing incubators of Koch Bros/Broad Foundation for future Voters, discriminates against low-income and minority students. LAUSD needs to BAN this action - every CALIFORNIA School District needs to BAN CHARTER SCHOOLS. BE INFORMED!

Some folks want to own and control everything. It's up to stop them, and create what we want.

It is time to build public schools back to the great schools we had years ago. Charter Schools are allowed to pick and chose their students. They don't have the same expectations that public schools have. It is a big ripoff and hurts students that need education the most.

The attempt to privatize is a form of exclusion. It's effect is the dumbing down of America. Education should NEVER be about money!!

Just say no. Public money goes to public schools. The definition of public is of or concerning the people as a whole.

We need to stop starving our public schools that are responsible for educating ALL of our children. Our taxes should go towards a public good like public schools, not unaccountable charters that push children out who can't pay or meet bogus testing standards.
