On April 19th, three people sitting at tables in front of Gimme! Coffee were struck by a car that jumped the curb one of Ithaca's Busiest and most confusing intersections while enjoying coffee and beautiful spring weather. We have seen too many accidents and close ones at the intersection of Cayuga St. and Cascadilla St. We think it's time that Ithaca put it's foot down on the supremacy of cars on our city streets. We support a calmer, safer and more pedestrian friendly intersection at Cayuga and Cascadilla for our children, our elders and our coffee drinkers.
