This is the only place in Somerset that you can go to swim indoor or in the fall/winter while the water park is closed. I think they should fix them and open them back up.

Since the Y facility was built, my family has retained a membership. Now the pools aren't available, we will end the membership.

I am currently having to drive my daughter to Russell springs twice daily in order for her to swim on a swim team. We may have to look at transferring schools from Somerset to Russell springs if our local pool isn't fixed in order for her to be able to swim on a school swim team.

Very disappointed about this decision ; for a city that has always taken pride in being progressive this is a huge step backwards.

We need this pool opened back up! Somersplash is the only other option & a lot of people can't afford that. Aside from that, people can do physical therapy & get fit in the pool.

If our city can build an ugly building for more than 1million dollars, then why can it not fix these pools?? Our CITY'S PEOPLE would get more use out of reparing those pools than what that building is helping anyone. Too many people would like to swim year around! Water exercises are far more beneficial than ordinary aerobics. I for one am forming arthritis and tindinittis, I too am struggling with my weight so terribly bad. Those pools could help me get back in shape and stay that way year around. I know several other residents feel the same way and would get much beneficial use out of the pools being repaired.
I'd rather our tax dollars go toward something that benefits the community, and those pools would.

Me and my children have always went to the pool during the summer I am heartbroken that it won't be opening. I believe that this should have been a priority to fix the pools for the families and elderly that can't afford the water park.

Somerset fix the pool for the family's of this county. We give kids and family a place to swim safely , with good sanitary care. I am a tax payer in the City of Somerset, fix the pool

Born and raised in Somerset, I learned to swim in this pool. I swam in the outdoor pool many days in the summer time as a kid, and in the winter we would go to "The Y" to swim indoors for fun. Some of my fondest memories came in that pool, and it is a shame that a town the size of Somerset can't even give its citizens a decent place to swim recreationally, hold swim meets, have therapy, or just enjoy the water.

The City has no control over what the Somerfit Board is charging for membership, so talk to them about a price adjustment.

You need to ask the Somerfit Board for your money back, they just lease the building from the City.
They are ones taking your money.
