Estheticians are well versed and must pass infection control measures to even be licensed. There are 18 hours taught within the Esthetics program and a test given at the end of the chapter. Now, you can be certified in infection control within the industry as well. Masks and a face shield is worn throughout the treatment. We know more about this than most retail and grocery store workers and are held to a standard even before Covid. Maybe we can bring our equipment to a restaurant, have our client lay on a table, order food and drinks, and do the facial there, since you can remove the masks once you sit. ;)

Dentists are now rated the #1 riskiest profession when it comes to Covid exposure. Personal Care Professionals are #9. We are not doing the Lord’s work. There is science behind this data. Please stop making the argument that you can have your teeth worked on, but not a facial. If you can give yourself a root canal then go ahead. I am more than happy to abide the rules and guidelines when it comes to services where clients can’t wear a face covering. There is no rush to reopen these services when it’s not a necessity. Root canals are a necessity. Let Cuomo make an informed decision for us and the public. I have no desire to go back to where NYC was in April. Stop pushing this. This is not personal, this is a public health risk.

I am more than ready and prepare to safely reopen my 30 years skin care business. No reason not to allow us to get back to work. Full safety measures and precautions are our priority.
