Esthetician’s and licensed professionals I’d the state board are trained to prevent the spread of Blood-borne pathogen’s and disease and have been before the Corona Virus pandemic. It is something that is Engraved in our brains while we are in training. It’s a simple regulation called “ Universal precautions“. We treat everyone as though they had an infectious disease to prevent the spread to ourselves and to other clientele.So it’s very irritating to see that other businesses who are not trained as in-depth as our trade in infection control be allowed to be open. This is detrimental to a business that brings so much to our economy. Rethink what you are doing to the People in the beauty industry who depend on a Paycheck and Patrons that depend on our services.

I also run a boutique facial spa in Brooklyn were I only can see 5 people a day. No other employees. It’s preposterous that I can not open.

Aestheticians are held to a high standard of cleanliness to ensure the safety of their clients. Businesses in this industry should be able to open because they are able to control clientele and provide a sanitary environment for everyone.

What we as estheticians do is about health and wellness while practicing strict sanitation. Plenty of dermatology practices use the same modalities we do, and they are allowed to do business right now. It’s not fair.
