Keeping schools closed isn't protecting children, it's putting them more at risk (of depression, abuse, neglect, suicide, etc). I'm a parent and a teacher and I want to teach in person, with no unnecessary sanitizing, distancing, or masks! I want my child in normal, familiar, comforting school. Our students don't need any further trauma.

If PSD does not open schools because of fear for a virus that poses effectively no risk to our children, then I have to wonder if the decision-makers care about the harm (both short-term and long-term) that decision will have on our children.

These kids need and deserve to be in school. Remote/Homeschooling will not work for my granddaughter and a lot of other children. Set up clear dividers on the desks if you feel they are needed but get these kids back in school.. Since the beginning of this virus daycares have been open and children have been interacting and doing just fine!!

Education is essential. Data shows risks are close to zero for student to teacher transmission. Give families and children a choice!

This is ridiculous you didn’t listen to our surveys. Schools need to be open: teachers are front liners just like me (medical field).

If you’re not going to do what my taxes pay for, I would like that money to get my kids an education that will work for us.

There are zero deaths to cøvid in this state for individuals under 20, yet suicide is climbing, parents can't get back to work, kids aren't getting their educations, children with special needs or in potentially abusive situations are not being attended to. Why should medical personnel be required to risk their health and grocery clerks, but teachers should expect pay on our dime yet not provide the support we are paying them for? Teachers should use PPE if they feel they are at risk, but kids need to get back to normalcy immediately. There should be an online alternative for individuals who have family members at high risk. Protect the high risk group and let the rest of society--and especially our children--get back to living!
