The park is officially opening back up and the new equipment is finally going in after all the back and forth which is just honestly such a relief. I am genuinely stunned that we actually pulled this off and I just want to say thank you for sticking with me …
We the undersigned believe that Llantwit Fardre Community Council should reopen the playground at Parc Nant Celyn, install the brand new equipment that was promised at their full council meeting in February and address any safeguarding concerns that have been highlighted ASAP.
Seeing this much energy behind the park makes me think my initial worry about being ignored was totally wrong. It is honestly bizarre to see so many people who actually care about these swings and I have spent the whole morning just scrolling through the names because I still cannot believe it is really happening.

Parc Nant Celyn is the only park in the local area not to have been updated. Parks that were newer have been updated with new equipment. We pay the highest council tax in the area, is it too much to ask that we have an area for our children to play safely.

Our park has been closed for over 2 year we have grandchildren that need this facility and recently the park has been stripped and left bare.
The amount of revenue from the council tax on our development is more than any area in RCT.

Barratt Homes put this park in nearly 30 years ago. It has seen the original children play, now their children come to play there. One person I understand it has deemed it unsafe.

Recently moved here, the local park was a factor in our decision. Sad that we could lose out on taking the children to a park within walking distance from our house

The community council would be welcome to discuss any issues - including safeguarding concerns -with the local community so we can find a solution to keep the much used play area for local children.

This is a valuable resource for the young children in the area. The next nearest park is via a dangerous narrow foot path, too far and not safe for children. We need this park reopen as soon as possible.
