WDC have recently refused planning for a new takeaway business in Renton. The proposal involved changing the use of the old Saltire Store to a hot food takeaway.
Not only would this proposal make use of a building that’s currently lying empty (we have plenty of those) and has been for years, it would bring jobs to the local area, give people of Renton choice for hot food takeaways and help to reinvigorate the area.

I was just checking the list and honestly it is wild to see how many people actually care about that old store sitting there empty for ages when we could have jobs instead. It really feels like things are moving now and I am kind of shocked by it but in the best way possible because seriously who wants another vacant building rotting away when we could have a hot meal option right here.

Would be good to see an empty building being put to use rather than rotting away like so many others in the area!
I always believed a take away in The Renton when I was younger brought our community together we all enjoyed a take away and still do
Need a new place for something to eat

Such a waste of a building just sitting there empty when it could be doing something useful for the village. Renton needs more options!
