I am a real estate broker for over 25 years - I have never seen a city pass an ordinance limiting the use of your residential property and de-value it as Lakeway has - PLEASE sign my petition to present to elected officials at Lakeway so we can eliminate this ordinance
As long as you manage your tenants and are accountable if there are any problems, you should maintain your right to use your property as you wish...short, long term leases or occupy and use as residential.

No problem - it’s not like it’s illegal for everyone - only the select few get a permit to rent - how is that fair?

I believe in homeowners rights in Texas as does the chairman of the Senate committee when they passed SB 451 last April 18th. Apparently the bill was put on the back burner in the House.

I agree there are other ways to deal with the issues of renting short term

How about making this an official petition and get it on the ballot? Is this version for the office candidates in the city? Would like to have them answer what they will do if elected.
The current ordinance must be repealed. Thanks for taking this issue up.

I agree Steve and Frank - I dont even mind if there are "rules" to renting - but to allow some people to do short term rental and others not to is not fair and may be in violation of our property rights - It would be nice if an attorney could comment here - help me get the word out by sending the link - https://www.ipetitions.com/petition/rental-permits-in-lakeway#scrollTo--undefined

I’m sorry you feel that way - it devalues your property and you have lost the right to use your property as you see fit
