Additional measures should be implemented to ensure that businesses and individuals are wearing masks. The Health Department should be randomly inspecting restaurants to ensure that staff and patrons are wearing masks and social distancing. Additionally, a fine similar to that in McPherson, Kansas should be considered for citizens caught not wearing masks in public areas as required by law.

Until a vaccine is available we need to make some wise, temporary sacrifices to keep people safe. Our grandparents and great-grandparents did it in the early 1900s, we can do it, too.

Businesses are already being shut down due to staff exposure. If we don’t get serious about keeping each other safe the local economy will shut down on its own - with or without direction from those in charge.
