The people who were involved in the creation and continuation of the Hip Hop genre deserve to have a platform and a voice to tell their story and this show allows them to do that. The Get Down is also a show about the underdogs who rise up and make it (and who doesn't love a story like that?). Thanks to this show, I get to see plenty of new talent and get to learn more about one of my favorite musical genres. It also reaches out to audiences that can be typically neglected from mainstream media (people of color, lgbtq community, people who live in an urban environment, etc). My final point - The characters of The Get Down are relate-able. They have a lot of passion, ambition, loyalty and most importantly a lot of courage. The courageousness that this show has given to me as a fan, i'm willing to put out there to tell Netflix and Sony Pictures to continue with another season of The Get Down. #RenewTheGetDown
