Dear Senator Feinstein,

We the undersigned, are writing to you, in hopes of making major change. As you know, we are in a time of desperate need for action to help combat the effects of climate change.

Your website clearly states your understanding for needed change particularly, in energy efficiency. We appreciate and recognize your admirable work in leading efforts to reduce our carbon footprint by adopting more efficient technologies, promoting zero-emission vehicles, and embracing renewable energy sources. By increasing fuel economy standards, you have also helped save consumers money, reduce carbon emissions, and improve energy efficiency.

However, we do not see how you plan to support Biden’s Clean Electricity Program and would like to request that you put out a statement of your support or indifference. The Program will help rapidly cut down on carbon emissions by almost 80% by 2030. This will hold electrical utilities companies accountable by either offering stipend for their conversion to clean energy, like wind and solar power, or fining those who do not comply. Although there is already major support from the majority of the Democratic Party, there is one Democratic Senator, Joe Manchin, who opposes this plan, and we need your support and action to help push this bill through.

Renewable energy sources should not be looked for in the future, the time to implement these changes is now. The issue of climate change is rapidly progressing and the faster we can get in front of it, the better. We hope to see your stance and support on Biden’s Clean Electricity Program, as it will jumpstart the actions needed to reduce climate change.
