The lack of transparency regarding these backroom decisions made by a few that affect so many is as always, infuriating and disheartening. It is not however remotely surprising. Standard operating procedures at work here.
I wonder what would happen if the volunteers that do so much for the school and parish suddenly just decided on their own to not show up one day, and didn't let anyone know until it was too late to do anything about it. Food for thought.

I went to a Catholic grade school and I realize what it means to have a principal that cares for the children.

It's nearly 2 weeks since hearing this announcement, and I remain stunned that a decision of this consequence to all of us family "shareholders" of St Margaret of Scotland school was made in a vacuum with what appears to be extremely limited parent input. I can only speak from my own experience of Mrs M, but it's 6 full years of my son's daily school life in her hands, and the hands of the loving, dedicated faculty. The school is a blessed, God-filled and nurturing environment, and Mrs. M's touch is felt in every corner of that building. I would never choose a public forum to air my thoughts (those who know me know I'm not on FB) but we were given no choice, no real opportunity to express our feelings about this decision. All I can say to those in charge: What were you thinking?? Have the courage to reassess and fix your mistake.

Mrs. Militzer is a huge asset to the school. I believe the school would suffer a great loss by not renewing her contract.

The Diocese of Pittsburgh continues to amaze me in the decisions they make regarding school administrators. They forget the decisions they make impact more then just those making the decisions, they have far reaching effects on the students and families involved. Mrs. Militzer was a fantastic teacher and an even better administrator. The backroom deals by the diocese need to stop. If they refuse to change their mind, at least have a discussion with the families involved to discuss why this is happening.

An educator and leader of Cathy militzer's caliber should be earning respect and dignity, the way this situation is being handled is appalling and inexcusable. Those involved and they know who they are, are an embarrassment to the community

Mrs. Militzer has been a loyal and dedicated teacher at St. Margaret of Scotland for many years and St. Margaret should be ASHAMED if they decide to not renew her contract. I am in full support of renewal of her contract and urge immediate action by Fr. Francis Murhammer.

Mrs. Militzer has taught my kids and been the administrator during their time. She is a fantastic person and a tremendous asset to the parish in so many ways beyond being the principal. She is part of the reason my daughter is also a principal. I am at a loss to even consider a reason for non-renewing her contract. I would be most interested in the facts.

PLEASE SAVE OUR PRINCIPAL!!!! I feel she is being unfairly terminated! Please do what is best in the best interest of the children Fr. Bud!

The thing most astonishing to me is the lack of support and rationale for not renewing her contract.

This is ashame. With all the talk about bringing folks back into the church how can we do that if we remove a principal that had done nothing but succeed. Take a look around we are the only catholic school close to Greentree Westwood crafton heights that has enrollment and is staying open I'm afraid if Cathy goes so will enrollment. The church has already declined and I noticed that when Kevin Mauer left our music director. I can only imagine what will happen if they let Cathy go !!
