This show is great entertainment, with plenty of unpredictable twists and turns, and just the right amount of off-the-wall humor to balance the heavy demon-fighting. Perhaps slightly more character driven scripts, instead of the over-indulgence in blatant monster ridden themes, would help to better showcase one of the series' most remarkable assets: an incomparable opportunity to experience (at least on TV) a narrative about America's illusive (but existent) mystical foundations. With the right marketing, many high school teachers and some college instructors might even want to assign it as required viewing. (I sure would if I were still teaching undergraduates.) After all, Sleepy Hollow is a fantastic way to spark keen interest in American history. The dramatization (loose as it may be) of certain historical events is, I believe, one of the main reasons the show has remained so compelling. Refine the story line and direction, if you must, but why take it off the air? Just reinvent it. There's plenty of room for the show's own transformation -- or should we say reincarnation. Listen to your audience who undoubtedly has some brilliant ideas. Let the show's characters -- and their relationships -- evolve naturally. We're all waiting…. After all, this is a beautiful, groundbreaking series. Kudos to everyone involved, especially Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie for transcending so many boundaries, artistically and technically. Sleepy Hollow's seamless merging of genres and themes never ceases to amaze me, and it has left more than a million of us -- and potentially millions and millions of viewers -- anxiously waiting for more. At the very least, renew it for a limited run next fall with potential built-in closure, but be open to the possibility of new life, new fans, new reception. There's much more story to tell….and a considerably wider audience to tell that story to.

Despite all the bumps in the road, this show deserves at least one more chance. It's one of the few fantasy/supernatural shows out there with a very diversified main cast(three of the four main characters are people of color). Please, Fox, don't be the network to cancel the show that's achieved such a milestone in television.
