CCPS is a public school system and, as such, should be welcoming to ALL students regardless of the beliefs of others. If a member of the board cannot support that idea, they should not serve in a capacity that can negatively impact the lives of students.

It is my firm opinion that Ms. Renee Dixon is displaying immoral values by publicly posting images of Pride colors and saying pride is what made angels into devils. She belongs to an extremist church that just decided women do not have the authority to minister or have authority over men!?? As a member of our local school board, her religion should not have a prominent role in her public life. She supports the astroturf Mom's For Liberty campaigns that has locally in Cecil County attacked LGBTQ+ youth. This individual is unqualified to serve on a local school board. Her own son held up local stores at gun point for sport because he thought it would be fun. I know the sins of the son cannot be held against this woman, but this toxicity and distraction, attacks on our youth, have no place on our school board.

All students need better support than what Renee Dixon has shown.

I am shocked and disappointed that a member of the board would post such things. I do not feel safe with her being in charge of children.

There is no place for bigotry on a school board that serves ALL children.

Moms for Liberty have been designated at hate group and extremists just like the Ku Klux Klan. Someone who holds similar views and uses their position of power to express them and put them into effect in the community is abusing their power! This is a DOJ Civil Rights issue! If she is not removed, LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families should sue the school district for discrimination under Title IX, and under the 14th. Amendment. They are being denied FAPE (free and appropriate public education) like their heterosexual peers!

Disgusting behavior. No room or tolerance for her and her words

This is absolutely horrendous. How people can still have this backwards way of thinking is beyond me. Please help put a stop to it.

As long as a homophobic bigot is in a position of power, my children aren’t safe.

Someone like this should not have any authority or be anywhere near a school.

Religious beliefs must be put aside when doing the people's business as a public servant. I have no confidence that she is able to serve the people without bias.

Hate has no place in civilized society and most certainly no place in schools.

Any person who is elected to represent the well being of our children should do so for all children equally.

Public school should be open and welcoming to everyone. Ms. Dixon does not seem able to be on board with this part of the mission of Cecil County Public schools and should not be on the board of Education.

To represent students...you must represent ALL students.
