Recent discussions on Clemson's campus have brought much attention to the name of the university's most iconic building - Tillman Hall. The building, named after founding trustee Benjamin Tillman, is argued to make minorities feel disrespected and uncomfortable due to the 19th century stance Benjamin Tillman took on race.

It is thus our duty to offer appropriate channels our Board of Trustees can consider in regards to this resolution. After careful consideration we contend that should Tillman Hall be renamed, the most appropriate title should be after two time first-team All-American, 2014 Orange Bowl MVP, and three-time 2014 NFL Rookie of the Week Sammy Watkins. We believe that Sammy Watkins properly exemplifies the Clemson Core Values of integrity, honesty, and respect through his Orange Bowl record setting 16 receptions for 227 yards and his 4.43 second 40-yard dash, among other accomplishments. By renaming Tillman Hall after the recent recipient of a fully guaranteed four-year contract worth $19.94 million, including a $12.8 million signing bonus, we feel that Clemson's campus will move a step closer to distancing itself from its past mistakes and uniting the campus as a whole.

Along with renaming Tillman Hall after the current Buffalo Bill rookie record-setter of 65 receptions and 982 receiving yards, we also suggest renaming the Tillman Bell Tower to the C.J. Spiller Bell Tower, in reference to the 2009 ACC Player of the Year and current teammate, running back, and return specialist to the above-mentioned Sammy Watkins. In order to immortalize this change we ask that the date "10/10/12" be engraved on the stairs leading into the future Sammy Watkins Hall in remembrance of the original student-wide "Free Beer With Sammy Watkins!!!" email that united the Clemson campus years before and ensured the legend of the fourth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

All those who sign this petition believe whole-heartedly in this cause and look forward to change on Clemson's campus.

At the very least please consider renaming one of the storage closest in the Brooks Center after Creed's lead guitarist Mark Tremonti, who really did go to Clemson for a little bit.
