The Macedon Ranges has a particularly brutal history of murder and genocide of the indigenous inhabitants by early settlers . The bleak and shameful story has been hidden from view. The bravery and sacrifice of the Kulin nation's people as they tried to defend country, faced with impossible odds, should be acknowledged by all of us that have made this region our home.

I know that Yaldwyn had involvement with the campaspe river killings and would like to see both hutton and yaldwyn stripped from our streets.

Definitely - great suggestions! There are so many reservoirs around the area, yes. Black hill reserve definitely needs changing :.(

Yes, you are so right, LJ. A great example of where gaping holes are.

:( yes, a review of all street names should be understaken. Maybe there are also grants for students or researchers to do this work too?

We need recognition and a statement of the hustory of the original inhabitants and owners of the land in each of our towns.

There is no reason why any particular streets or places could not be considered for dual naming. Known named sites such as creeks, rivers, Hanging Rock and other natural sites et al should not even be up for debate - make it happen.

Many of the streets are named after settlers who were involved with removal and abuse of 1st Nations people. A proper review should take place.

It would be amazing to recognise the First Nations history of Ngannelong (Hanging Rock) as there is next to no information about it when you visit the area and it’s a significant meeting place for First Nations people.
