We believe that it is not appropriate for a building at Knox Grammar School to be named the 'Paterson Centre for Ethics and Business Studies' given recent disclosures at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse regarding Dr Ian W Paterson.
We request that the Paterson Centre be renamed so as to more appropriately reflect the values of Knox Grammar School and to respect the victims of abuse who have suffered greatly over the years.
This petition has been started by former students of Knox Grammar School.

A hundred people have put their names on this and honestly I did not imagine it would happen so fast. It feels strange to see the number climb like this but also really validating because it means the message is landing with more people than I originally thought possible.

Seeing the numbers creep up honestly makes my pulse race because we are just about at the two hundred fifty mark so if you have been waiting to post this on your social media feed then now is the absolute time to do it. It feels like things are finally shifting and I really do not want this momentum to fizzle out when we are right on the edge of getting some real attention on this issue.

Perhaps some sort of memorial or plaque so that the school recognises the damage and suffering it has caused to stop this happening again. As for Paterson, wipe his name from the record books forever. Just like he tried to do to the victims
Alan Marsden was a great teacher and as mentioned earlier, taught Business Studies and Economics and was widely respected by everyone. I for one think the disgrace Dr Ian Paterson has wrought upon Knox, should be wiped away so we can remember the victims and help restore the good name of Knox.
The boys who were abused and re-traumatised at the school have been through enough. To honour Mr Paterson in this way is a travesty and his name must be removed immediately out of reapect for the boys who were so damaged and betrayed.
I don't request this, I demand it. As someone who was impacted in other ways by Dr Paterson's failure to act on serious matters, no amount of apology from the school has any meaning until this building is renamed.
I cannot believe this was ongoing and covered up the very men that challenged us on a daily basis to do the right thing, act with Integrity, Virile Agitur seams a questionable slogan considering what went on under Pattersons watch naming a building after him is completely unacceptable!

What I'm saying John is using this issue to bash a whole community, which for some reason you have a problem with makes you, like the perpetrators, a low life. Doing so anonymously makes you a gutless one at that. I think you've had enough attention, no more feeding the troll.

I am horrified to think that Paterson knowing allowed these monsters to pray on innocent boys. It was deliberately swept under the carpet to protect an image and sorry will never repair the damage. I was one of the lucky ones, my teachers were convicted and I boarded under Nisbetts so called "care"
