There are so many people making jokes about diabetes, insinuating that it's the diabetic's fault that they have their disease. Just because type 2 diabetes is partially caused by a poor diet and obesity, everybody thinks that type 1 is also caused by so. Type 1 is autoimmune, however, and you cannot prevent it. Those who sign this petition want either type 1 or type 2 diabetes renamed to prevent confusion. It would be much easier to rename type 1, due to the fact that the word 'diabetes' is already associated with obesity. The goal is 50 signatures, I hope to get more than that.
