It's ridiculous that they installed a plaque with the word nigger just 10 years ago!

Time for change and evolution from an oppressive history, that unfortunately continues on today.

As a black woman born in Quebec, I am offended by this term and all vestages of this it needs to be removed from Quebec's landscape! Please don't only 'consider' it, remove it.

The grounds for keeping the names are baseless. If they're offensive, they deserve to be changed while continuing to honour the people they refer to. As in the offense taken from sports teams using derogatory Native American nomenclature, there is no justification for keeping offensive terminology in any way, shape, or form - including provincial nature sites.

It says a lot that a petition is actually required in QC to get this done.

It's about time we remove those offensive names and replace it with names that honor our black heritage in Quebec

C'est bien le moment non seulement de rectifier cette injustice mais également de considérer les ramifications de cette histoire.
