Remove the term "nigger" from all of Quebec's natural sites

Dear Rachel, I wish you all the best in your efforts to get the names changed. I heard you on CBC radio yesterday and was both appalled and embarrassed as a Canadian that these names still exist. placename changes aren't unusual--This is long overdue

Are you serious? Why is this even a debate. Change the names to anything less derogatory immediately.

It's a derogatory term period! There are terms I don't want to be called personally, and I was actually shocked to learn that there are places in Quebec that have the "n" word in their names.

Deplorable.

C'est une vraie honte qu'au Québec, une province dite "ouverte et juste" aie encore des endroits de ce nom à si mauvais connotation. C'est urgent qu'on fasse le changement. We should be ashamed as Quebecers that such a derogative name is still used for places in our province which we call "open and fair". The change is important and should have been done a long time ago.

I cannot believe that in this day and age, anyone would have the gall to try and defend this as anything other than a nasty, racist bigoted set of terms, or would attempt to retain these in the face of all that we know of our own history. For shame, Quebec.

I was appalled to listen to the CBC clip and hear individuals dismiss this initiative and say "it's not an issue...it's just a name". I fully support changing the name.

The continuing institutional usage (and honouring) of the 'n word' in public spaces such as Quebec’s natural sites is an unacceptable practise that needs to be stopped. Using the racist epithet (and its variant) in this manner is similar to promoting and endorsing anti-African ideology. These places should be renamed - Immediately.

while I respect historical context, etc, this change would be for the best.

I have travelled to Quebec many times and treasure it as a beautiful part of our country. But this is a blight on your province and it must be made right.
