I am a resident of Shelby, and vehemently support the removal of these “landmarks.”

This is a no-brainer. Put the statue in a museum and change the 74 section’s name. But let’s not stop there. Let’s start making an effort to treat each other with kindness and respect.

The statues must come down. We must move forward to a better future for all and this is the step in the right direction.

I wasn’t aware ,until recently , who Dixon was and the highway was named after him . Same goes for the statue . I fully support this change and believe it’s a step forward in mending wounds caused by racial inequality in this county .
