As an Engineering professional, who was previously undocumented, I fully support the rescinding of this ban, which is not only discriminatory to a specific group of individuals, but also limits the potential these students have to offer to the progress of our country.

No to a caste system in the United States; people who have grown up here should obviously have the right to study. Yes to humane and non-punitive immigration reform, no to Congressional gridlock. No to small-minded local efforts to restrict the freedoms of immigrants and most especially youths who are by every measure already citizens of the U.S. - except the legal measure, which is way behind reality.

Surely, not one of us can any longer believe the lie that our dealings with opportunity in this country are purely meritocratic -- not so long as individuals of such capability and promise are barred from education simply because their beginnings as a human being happened elsewhere from our whitewashed soil.
Lift the ban!

We should be welcoming to students who achieve and want to dedicate their lives to studying at our Universities. This is bias is rooted in hate and not principles.

We can count the students who have been banned from this top institutions but we cannot count the dreams that have been broken as a result of this ban. We must continue to work, together we can overcome this wave of hate, we know this students are undocumented but they are Undocumented Americans After All.

An institution of higher learning has no business banning potential contributors due to civil status. This ban effectuates a system segregation that is inexcusable in our educational system, and I'm disgusted by our Board of Regents' decision to stand by it.
