Remove these Dumped Christmas Trees from Ayr Beach NOW

Come on South Ayrshire Council. Please do not spoil this lovely beach. We are regular summer visitors from Cornwall where we have miles of lovely coastline, which you are fortunate enough to have at Ayr, too. Please keep cleaning this lovely part of your shoreline and get rid of these hideous trees. Tourists do not want to see this!

I was brought up in Dalmilling and spent many Summer months on this area of the Beach. It is a prime site for visitors who want to sit on a large expanse of sand, not these hideous sand dunes that you want to create, very sad our beach being ruined in this way

Who on earth has came up with this stupid idea to transform a lovely sandy beach into overgrown grassy sandhills??

Absolute eye sore! Nobody wants sandunes right outside Ayr India or that end of the beach. Why spoil a beautiful view!!!! Why don’t the council pay someone to dig the sand back down to where it should be like they use to! The walls are 10ft high yet they have been left hence the sand piling up! Disgusting. Get them moved!

You lot are unbelievable. Have you visited Ayr beach recently?. .. it's huge, and the dune development area is small. There'll still be plenty of space for building sandcastles and swimming in then sea. This is a win win project, the council wins as they don't have to pay to dispose of hundreds of trees and the environment certainly wins on so many fronts. I've seen at least or comment saying "leave our beach alone". That comment hasn't been thought through. If we left Ayr beach alone that wold be exactly hat conservationists would want, but you wouldn't have miles of clean sand. The council spends significant amounts of money each year clearing Ayr beach. Large tractors strip all top layer away... Seaweed, shells, rubbish, all attempts by nature to find a foothold are stripped away to leave huge expanses of clean sand for tourists. If we left the beach alone there would be piles of rotting seaweed, more wildlife and dunes would start to form (slowly, but it would happen), so this is a COMPROMISE! This small area of beach given over to conservation efforts (and natural flood defences) is not much to give up compared to the massive area of Ayr beach which will still be scoured clean of all signs of nature. So, go on, keep asking the council to "leave our beach alone" and see how you like it when nature takes hold right along Ayr beach! I am a mum and I will admit that I can see the benefits of both types of beach. For a beach day with children then clean, cleared sand seems more pleasant and safe, however the most beautiful beaches in the world are all natural. We can have both here. There's plenty of room for sandcastles and nature along Ayr beach.

Leave the beach alone

This must be Cleared If new defences are needed, make a brand new attractive, higher sea wall, do not just dump these trees to go against Nature

Get these Christmas Trees disposed of properly, not on our lovely Tourist Area. It looks awful.

Stop interfering with nature. Ayr beach is beautiful. Why is half baked Ideology allowed to go ahead without consultation.

My Friends have the Restaraunt overlooking this area and they are neither happy or had a consultation. NEEDS TO BE STOPPED RIGHT AWAY

Ayr wants Events and the Low Green to welcome visitors? Well please do the decent thing and get all this rubbish off this amazing beach! Thanks.

South Ayrshire Council at it's very best. We want a nice sandy beach NOT sand hills. Look after the ones we already have further along

Ayr Beach is very attractive. We do not need and do not want Sand Dunes. Get all of these dumped trees removed please.

Totally agree this should not be done in the holiday area. It's an eyesore. Contact the Papers and get the trees disposed of

Grow Up

We have had businesses in Ayr for many years. We need to be encouraging the use of the Seafront and the large flat expanse of sandy beach. This crazy idea of building sand dunes on the main beach is crazy. Yes we want these christmas trees moved. By all means protect the beach but this area is completely fine. Please get these trees that are all dumped on the beach removed ASAP
