I as well as my husband and 14 year old daughter, are in 100% agreeance with this petition, and want our voices heard.

The principle behind Summit PLP is that all students learn differently. Using the same platform to teach all students defeats that premise. FPCSD has amazing teachers who bring lessons to life in a way no software can emulate. Unless a student is receiving regular one-on-one attention, they are not sufficiently engaged in the lesson.

Thank you for commenting Mauricio! Mauricio will be a sophomore at Fairview High School this year. As a freshman Mauricio participated in the Summit PLP. The district has continuously failed to hear the voices of students like Mauricio. Students that are begging to be challenged and learn! Unless this program is stopped now at the start of the 2017-18 school year, the Summit will expand and be used in grades 6-10.

After using the Summit Platform for a full school year, I can confidently say that it is not the way that students should be 'learning'. I did not learn anything throughout the school year in my two basecamp classes and was not held accountable for anything. This was in no way helping my education grow, or getting me ready to go into the real world!
