College is expensive- students everywhere can relate to that. UMaine, being located in Northern Maine, causes student's cars to endure some inevitable environmental beatings, whether it be the treacherous winter road conditions or the poorly maintained public roadways throughout Orono. Having already spent thousands of dollars on tuition and rent, students should not have to drive their car over detrimental speed bumps to further financially burden them with car repairs. The 5 speed bumps, located on only one short span of road at The Grove, are unavoidable and extremely unnecessary. The Grove should remove their speed bumps and replace them with speed limit signs to lessen the damages on their many tenant's vehicles.
