This outdated, never should have been created statue is a stark image of African pain, hurt and oppression. We must not allow it to stand and retrench racist, oppressive ideas. It is not a modern narrative and must come down.

Unnecessary, remove immediately. Replace with a monument dedicated to educating current and future generations about the segregation and redlining of Boston, and the public “leaders” who perpetuated it.

He isn’t on his knees. He is on one knee and is rising because he has been set free. Slavery in the US happened (still is happening, for that matter), people. It wasn’t a party. This should be rather the point.
