It's time to put every Confederate statue in museums focusing on the Civil War, with factual context -- you changed my thinking on this; I wanted them all destroyed, but your well-articulated approach is better. From Boston and 100 percent agree. I am 44 years old, white nurse, and never understood why this man was on his knee. Loved lincoln overcoming his own issues to become president. I honor his presidency but this statue needs to come down. Lots of other great native Americans, african americans that we can replace him with

Heard you on NPR today Mr Bullock, thank you so much for helping me understand what this statue really means. I've never even seen it but had a knee jerk reaction about someone wanting to tear down Mr Lincoln, but now I get it..it's not about Lincoln, but about Mr Alexander and all the other slaves and decedents of slaves who deserve dignity and to build their own story.

I'm from the south originally and the first time I saw this statue I was stunned that such a thing would exist in Boston.
