As long as this statue remains standing, it will only continue to reflect on the acceptance of the social injustices and oppression we as black citizens endure daily. This statue shall be removed if we want to make progress in this country. This statue stranding means there is a statewide and national acceptance in the ways African Americans have been and continue to be mistreated. It must come to an end and we will continue to fight for our civil rights!
