Living with depression is like trying to swim with no arms or legs. The stigma that goes along with it can prevent someone from asking for a life preserver. Great petition. It's time for a change.

One in five people will suffer with a mental health issue during their life time. Mental health is foundation to good overall health and life satisfaction, yet people are often afraid to talk about it. It is up to all of us to create an environment of acceptance and compassion. Together we can remove the elephant. #removetheelephant

As a practicum student in Psychotherapy, I learn more everyday about the need we Canadians have to simply be accepted as we are. I hope that by removing the elephant we can start to see acceptance, kindness, and love towards all who need it.
