A small group of Duvall citizens are fighting to keep the rotting remains of the Thayer Barn intact and strewn out alongside SR203. This not only poses a significant liability, but remains to be an unsightly monstrosity for motorists and pedestrians alike. Prior to the decomposition of this structure, money was raised to restore and/or relocate the Thayer Barn, but due to a lack of project management, they have allowed this landmark to slip into an irreversible deteriorating state. This petition is to convince the City of Duvall that this is not the will of the general population, and to place an injunction on this group to remove the remains. Though we cherish the historical significance of this barn and many other Duvall landmarks, we also understand that the time for this has come and gone and hoarding rotting, moldy wood does nothing more than further degrade the historical value of this barn. Whether these pieces are dry-stored elsewhere and incorporated into the future proposed Art Center or hauled to the dump, we want them gone!
