For anyone to put out a petition to remove the crosses that family and friends have put up in memory of these children who lost their lives suddenly is not only shocking but sickening. I can't even begin to imagine the loss that this family is going through, let alone having this petition coming out. I can only pray that you don't experience the loss that this family has experienced. How DARE you and ANYONE who's signed this petition to want to add to the families pain. I believe in KARMA, and it's going to come back on YOU!!

Being family to one of the Urbana 5, I can't understand how someone could even start a petition to take down the crosses. People all cope in different ways, and putting up the crosses helped many, i believe that rather than putting people in danger, the crosses will remind people to double check before pulling out. People WILL stop at that stop sign and for even just a brief second pay respects or just plain remember, and look both ways.

These crosses were made by different groups of people including the kids friends. How do you choose whose goes and whose stays. They are all placed with love. This family hasn't even had time to have memorial service and are preparing for the hardest time in their lives including kids friends. They don't need this as a distraction. I think the timing is on purpose. Why can't we find out who started this?

I lost my cousin Nikki on that spot. I saw a community squeeze into a funeral home to see her off. I agree that it could be dangerous for people to pull off and take pictures but that will end in a week or two. These need to stay and they will help remind others to drive safe. The state od South Dakota puts up markers where people have died and they say "THINK". These crosses may save lives just as Nikki has by being a organ donor. If anyone feels they need to sign a petition then sign the petition to get the DOT to fix the intersection. It should T off and not be a Y where you are looking for traffic in vehicle blind spots. Thanks to all of you with loving and supporting comments .

really I lived 2 miles from that intersection when I was growin up back n the 80's nd it was a dangerous intersection then something does need to b done I say leave the crosses there maybe I'll make the half hour drive up there nd put 5 more crosses up jst to spite the person that wants the 15 crosses taken down I say put Ur big person panties on nd grow up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoever started this petion os a non caring ignorant person. You see crosses everywhere on the side of roads and its not a distraction its called RESPECT and i think these familys deserve respect.how come your starting a petion now but i have always noticed a few other crosses at the same intersection never bothered anyone before.i have taken my kids to see the crosses and it wasnt a distraction for me. The crosses are beautiful and the family made them. I SAY START A PETION TO LEAVE THE BEAUTIFUL CROSSES AND LEAVE THESE FAMILYS ALONE!

there are so many because alot of different people put them there. That intersection is dangerous and seeing all those crosses there may just make someone finally do something...!!!! There are also crosses there from other families who have lost someone in that very same spot.. Leave them alone, and go find something more important to gripe about!! How dare you come in and try to start an uproar in an already delicate and sad situation. They don't need your negativity, let them grieve if those crosses bother you then don't look!!!!!!!!!! If those are removed i myself will start a community uproar!!!!

Can't believe someone would actually start something like this!! Don't want to see it don't go that way. These kids and families are doing the best they can in dealing with this. Find some compassion as there is something seriously lacking in your life but don't take it out on people that are mourning. The only reason there are signatures is because people are trying to show support for the families in saying keep the crosses not realizing they are actually signing this awful petition :/
