Secondly, radiation from wifi is indeed the same thing as cell tower radiation. Wifi, cell phones, and cell towers all emit radiofrequency radiation. You are likely just going to be exposed to higher levels of it if standing under a cell tower than if sitting next to a wifi router. So, the research and letters discussing wifi are absolutely relevant. Thirdly, you mention that it is not currently classified as a carcinogen, and that’s correct. Radiofrequency radiation is classified as a class 2B possible carcinogen. However, this classification should not be downplayed. There are many other dangerous things that share this classification that have been banned such as lead. Furthermore, many scientists and researchers would like this classification to be updated in response to emerging research. Also, this is the quote I was referring to from the American Cancer Society: “At this time, there’s no strong evidence that exposure to RF waves from cell phone towers causes any noticeable health effects. However, this does not mean that the RF waves from cell phone towers have been proven to be absolutely safe. Most expert organizations agree that more research is needed to help clarify this, especially for any possible long-term effects.” In this quote, they admit radiofrequency radiation from cell towers has not been proven safe. When I reviewed the petition as you noted there were no research links, opinions or backup of any kind. So the immediate 5 minutes of research I did was 5 minutes more than you offered. Further, the American Cancer Society does not take a position and instead point to agencies that generally say things like: So far, the National Toxicology Program (NTP) has not included RF radiation in its Report on Carcinogens, which lists exposures that are known to be or reasonably anticipated to be human carcinogens. (For more on this report, see Known and Probable Human Carcinogens.) According to the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC): “[C]urrently no scientific evidence establishes a causal link between wireless device use and cancer or other illnesses. Those evaluating the potential risks of using wireless devices agree that more and longer-term studies should explore whether there is a better basis for RF safety standards than is currently used.” More recently, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a technical report based on results of studies published between 2008 and 2018, as well as national trends in cancer rates. The report concluded: “Based on the studies that are described in detail in this report, there is insufficient evidence to support a causal association between radiofrequency radiation (RFR) exposure and [tumor formation].” In science more research is always recommended. This standard recommendation cannot be taken with any inference beyond that certainty is very difficult to attain. Lastly, I don’t recognize most of your references as authoritative or relevant. Opposing Wi-Fi is different than cell towers. I’ll conclude where I started: I suppose our pastor will make a decision. For an environmental attorney, you seem to be unwilling to look at the scientific evidence against EMF radiation and children. Just because your kids are 'okay' doesn't mean others will be, as all kids are NOT the same. Also, I do pray your children are ok in the long run because they are part of this experiment now too due to your flippancy over the issue. If you don't agree with the petition move on...instead you've commented 3 times?

We don’t have to agree on the level of harm that radiofrequency radiation causes. We clearly don’t agree, and that’s okay. But, I think what most people can agree is that if the research isn’t conclusive, we need to be prudent and implement the precautionary principle with our children and other vulnerable populations. There are many other countries that more carefully regulate their children’s EMF exposures in schools. These include France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland, Russia, Israel, Canada, and India, to name a few. Within the US, Los Angeles has also banned cell towers on school grounds. Great Lakes Waldorf School in Minneapolis has also banned wifi in schools.

Remove all 5g towers

REMOVE THE CELL ANTENNAS NOW- our children will not be lab rats; it is well known Tharp close proximity to these cell antennas causes numerous issues from mood and mental disorders, sleep issues, cancers, to name a few. Research has proven that the radioactivity emitted IS (not may ne) BUT IS HARMFUL TO HUMAN HEALTH! There are nine cell antennas on the top of the St. Linus Church tower. These need to be removed because of the serious health threat they pose to the students, faculty, and staff at the school. Cell antennas emit radiofrequency radiation, which has been shown to be harmful to human health. Current research shows that living and going to school near cell towers is linked to many negative health consequences including but not limited to brain tumors, blood cancers, heart tumors, headaches, nausea, concentration difficulties, and behavior problems in children. This petition is for all St. Linus parents, faculty, staff, clergy, and anyone else who lives near or works in the church. Please sign this petition to protect the health of our children and to keep them and all others involved safe from harm.

Five minutes of research is five minutes of research. And I’ll tell you what, sir, I’ve done a heck of a lot more than five minutes of research. And the American Cancer Society says the research on radiofrequency radiation is inconclusive. They do not state it has been proven safe. They make it clear more research is needed. I’m not sure why that would make you feel better when you are talking about the health and safety of children. It certainly doesn’t ease my mind. I suppose you are lucky if it eases yours. Saying this is fearmongering only demonstrates a lack of knowledge on the subject.

An elementary school in Mount Greenwood got its cell towers removed after a cluster of pediatric cancer cases. Do you have children in the school, Mr. Sheerin? Many of us do not want our children as the 5G guinea pigs.
