While I agree that Freedom of Speech is extremely important, using those rights may infringe on someone else’s freedom of expression. It’s important to note that actions have consequences. I’m not saying that there should a public humiliation, because there should NOT. But for Ram Page to publish this article is deeply concerning. Take this deeply insulting and blatantly sexist and misogynistic article off of the website and do not allow the writer, Emelia Hyde, to contribute to the page until a thorough investigation into how this was allowed is completed.

As a student and young woman, the writing in this article is ignorant and can/will do a lot of damage to students who view it, no matter what opinion you walk away from it with

Although the Freedom of Speech is a sacred right protected by the 1st Amendment, it doesn't give someone the right to promote language that incites violence. Claiming that a woman's outfit is an invitation for assault incites violence against women. We need to educate that clothes are not consent. The safety and dignity of women demand that we do not stand by quietly while others spread misinformed and dangerous speech.

Self Respect is loving one self without the validation of others. It comes within our own heart and soul. No woman or man, should ever be violated based by their choice of clothing. We live in America, home of the brave and free; therefore, we have the ability to choose what we want to look like and wear. Now, can other choices be appropriate, sure: however- we aren’t to judge. My saying “ If you don’t pay my bills, keep a steppin”. Until you do, then you can have a say. Change starts with one voice.
