I live in Willingham, often travelling along the Rampton Rd where these speed bumps are located. The siting of the bumps is not necessary, speeding along that location was never an issue. In addition to the poor location the design of the bumps are ergonomically friendly nor suitable for long term wear.

There is something badly wrong with the design of these bumps.

Whilst I appreciate the reasons behind the traffic calming measures, I believe that the measures taken here are completely overkill. The chicanes at each end of the village are downright dangerous! I travel this way every week day and have had in excess of 5 very near misses due to inconsiderate drivers who cannot be bothered to give way and are in a rush, add to this the fact that one set is practically on a bend which in itself isn't ideal And we have a SERIOUS accident just waiting to happen. The speed bumps themselves need to be properly signposted, at this moment in time we are relying on inadequate signage leaving people who don't know the area at a disadvantage. The humps themselves seem much higher and harsh than usual and despite changing down into first gear I still struggle to get over them and I cannot be the only one with this problem. Again, these are located adjacent to a bend, where people cannot see them and you run the risk of being hit from behind whilst you slow down to navigate the humps. In attempting to put safety first I suspect that you have actually made the situation worse with both the humps and the chicanes...

I travel daily through Rampton on my way to work and find the bumps make me slow down excessively. I virtually have to stop to go over them which in fact is a danger.

Speed bumps are often necessary, but residents should be consulted before they are installed outside their house as they do have a huge impact on them with noise etc. These speed bumps are impacting on the residents because of the noise and also vibration caused by heavy vehicles.

The speed bumps are not fit for purpose and have a risk of causing damage to vehicles. In addition it is causing unnecessary disturbance to residence.

There are other ways to slow traffic down. Just outside Horningsea we have fake gates and this works. It has always surprised me the council pay to fill in pot holes which have the same effect as speed bumps.

These speed bumps have already caused accidents and damage. They completely stop traffic, whoever in their right mind came up with these?! They should be sacked for incompetence.

These speed bumps make no sense and are overly aggressive - like others I feel for those living nearby who are being so disrupted by them.

Way too aggressive and will cause significant damage to cars even at low speed.

The position and height of these speed bumps is stopping the flow of traffic instead of slowing it down. They are not fit for purpose and should be removed. Average speed cameras are all that is required.

I travel through Rampton daily and since these ramps have been installed I have lost count how many times the car behind me has nearly rear ended me because I've had to come to a stand still to go over them. They are so high, in order to avoid damage to my car and wheel alignment i have to almost stop before i go over them. The installment of these speed ramps totally contradicts the reason they were installed...for safety.....THEY ARE A ROAD HAZZARD!!!!

These are so "aggressive" traffic has to virtually stop to pass over them, damages low vehicles or makes dangerous driving as you have no option but to drive half on the wrong side of the road - as advised to do by the council so that the low part of your vehicle goes over the gap in the middle! Even at slow speeds it causes jerks and bumps to passengers who suffer with back problems. Traffic noise has greatly increased.

It is a basic human right to be able to sleep on your own home. The clear cause and effect of the speed bumps on the nearby properties is evident, and I think worthy of U-turn by those who decided to put them there in the first place. The same benefit of slowing down the traffic can be achieved by moving the humps to a non-residential part of the road. I think some honest empathy needs to be displayed .....

Not fair for local residents that these have been put in affecting quality of life and right to sleep. Should be removed.
