In order to decrease the amount of corruption that is prevalent in all levels of government, a strong step is to remove party affiliation from ballots, starting at the state level. This will influence voters to pay more attention to the candidates themselves, instead of the party in which they are involved. It is a small step for diminishing the power of parties, and sending a message to those in government who refuse to gets things done because they are too strongly influenced by the power of their party.
