Remove "Of the North" from Museum of the Moving Image film festival & Other Film Festivals

You did not ask us to see if you can include our video!!!!!!!

What this "filmmaker " has done is disturbing, ignorant, racist, disgusting, unfathomable, and downright demeaning to the Inuit. This cannot be allowed to continue to be screened or profited from in any way, artistically or otherwise.

I am truly shocked that this atrocity is still being perpetrated. It shows that indigenous people are still "fair game" to exploitation and misrepresentation.

Please stop all screenings of this racist, sexist, inaccurate "documentary." Its award also should be revoked, and the museums and film festivals that have screened it should apologize publicly to the Inuit people. Those who persist in screening this film, now that it's sources and complete lack of research have been exposed, are clinging to old stereotypes and fantasies about Native peoples that justify their social marginalization and exploitation.

This racist, colonial garbage belongs to another century. Listen to the indigenous community and their allies, and have nothing to do with "Of the North."

This film is disgustingly racist and it should be banned from being displayed anywhere.

This film should never have been accepted in any film festival. It is juvenile and racist. Please strike it from your rosters.

art can be bad, art can be hate speech. this is both. why is a festival wasting space in their program on this piece when there are plenty of other works IN THE ENTIRE WORLD from which they can choose.

This is a colonial documentary from the perspective of a white man who doesn't know anything from the North and the Inuit culture. It is painful and damaging to the Inuit people and doesn't promote dialogue and reconciliation. It is about ignorance and privilege of a group over another one.

As an Inuit Artist I do not support the public presentation of this racist film.

this is hate propaganda and its creator is an irresponsible artist who is trying to get famous by being cheaply offensive, without any understanding of or investment in the communities he portrays. the only situation in which this film can responsibly and ethically be shown is one in which there is a framework of critical analysis of propeganda and hate speech, and the effects of such. i do not believe that the artist in question has the capacity or the intention to show his work in such a framework.

There is literally no excuse for this garbage to have been taken to be anything but garbage.

Not only is this disgusting and racist, the director has lied about the footage and is a total fraud. There are not two sides to the story, it is not " edgy" or "controversial" and it not art - its just straight up lazy and racist.

I have read some quite detailed research into the filmmaker's misleading use of appropriated film clips and audio and for that alone I suggest this is an inappropriate item to honor with film festival showings or purportedly serious public discussions. Besides the poor use of appropriated materials, the filmmaker seems oblivious to the fact that he has lazily represented "the north" in a way which is very offensive to the indigenous people who live there.

Don;t ask why we are outraged at this film; ask WHY ARE YOU NOT OUTRAGED?

I hope this film never goes out, and hope Inuit will not see that. No one needs to see very sad to make something like that, and hoping to create a debate....I really dont understand. Let me know how can i help more
