Kids should only be given grades that they earn. They should not be given points for missing, failed or incomplete assignments. Give them the grades they earn.

The momentum we have built proves that parents are sick of the school board padding failing grades to inflate their own success metrics. This administration thinks they can ignore us while they cheapen our children's education, but they are clearly running out of places to hide.

This will only harm children and teach them they can get things they don't work for or deserve. We can't change reality. What happened to rewarding work ethic? This actually rewards laziness. It's nothing more than an attempt to boost school standing with doing the work. Do parents need to be involved more? Yes. But this encourages them to remain on the sidelines by allowing them to believe their children are doing better than they actually are. Or is that the intent?
My son came home and said he didnt do his history homework but he still got a 50 on it. How is this fair to the kids who actually stay up late studying? It just makes them lazy.
Children need to be taught and not passed on!! Our school system is not like it was when I was a child!!
I believe it’s healthy for any kid(s) to work for his/her grade. It’s good to get low grades or lose at something. Than teachers, parents and coaches can show or teach the kids how to better themselves. Kids have to learn you have to work for what you want not have it handed to them
By adopting the 55 rule/no zero rule you're basically making a mockery out of the special needs students who truly need special accommodations...I'm special needs myself...if you don't go back to the old school grading system for those who are not truly special needs then you're basically in violation of the ADA and the various state and federal laws regarding special needs education...and all the parents will and can report you for ethics violations...

Absolutely inexcusable that we would allow kids to get ANY credit for work not done. Failing is a part of life. I think it’s reprehensible that this district is allowing students to get credit for doing nothing. That TEACHES them nothing of responsibility, accountability, or hard work. It’s HUGE mistake and disservice.
